The Cottage Garden

Billowing clouds of blossoms - exotic blooms of clematis and honeysuckle winding their way through stately climbers, butterflies lighting upon sweet william and fragrant lilies - color, form, and fragrance all combined and shaped into the framework of a garden contained by an entry way, sunny border, or an entire backyard. We've created an elegant way for you to experience the joy of watching your plantings grow into a garden that will provide a daily feast; with blooms coming wave upon wave, month after month, and improving with each passing year.

We invite you to experience the Cottage Garden. With origins dating back to the English countryside of the 1700's, this style has traditionally included fruit trees, vegetable patches, never-ending blossoms, bee-keeps - all framed within a short wall of boxwood, a stonewall, or a picket fence.

Today's gardener can adapt this form to a private corner, a framework for a back door entryway, or as an exquisite garden retreat that encompasses the entire private landscape. A feast for the senses, a garden helps you express your creativity in ways both new and exciting. Explore the gardener within you and plan your escape to a garden of yesteryear.

Rose
A must for every cottage garden. Add the simple beauty of singles, or the dramatic statement made by stateiy climbers. Mix in ftoribundas to keep your garden blooming all summer long.
Clematis
Twisting and turning, climbing upon and tumbling over fences, companion plants or trellis, Clematis add a touch of romance. The color palette is wide and beautiful. Plant amongst climbing roses.
Shasta Daisy
You can never have too many daisies. Choose from painted daisy, oxeyes, shastas in a wide variety of heights. They love a sunny spot and will self-sow - a valuable asset in the cottage garden.
Daylily
Daylilies seem to capture the carefree spirit of the cottage garden. Available in a wide variety of colors and heights, you're sure to ftnd plenty of Hemerocallis to add to your borders, both sunny and part-shade.
Peony
There is no more sumptuous bloom available to the garden. Peonies are available in singles, doubles, and Japanese tree peonies. Exquisite blooms form above lush foliage in Spring.
Sweet William
This biennial is a Dianthus. It is commonly referred to as a garden pink and is a staple in most cottage gardens. It is low growing and therefore perfect for the front of the border.
